Frankenstein - A Gothic Novel by Ameera
Chapter I Volume I
The grieving
mist gripped tightly onto the graves not wanting to let the dead depart.
Raindrops pattered on the blanket of sodden leaves and thunder growled
overhead. The mossy, ruined gravestones stood like soldiers preparing for
battle. Moss and lichen covered the names of the long lost and forgotten.
Bending willow trees stood like mourners around an open grave. It was here in
this place of the dead that Victor Frankenstein dragged a lifeless corpse from
the cold hard ground.
Chapter I Volume II
Victor, who had piercing blue eyes quickly walked out of the
graveyard. The man had hazel, shoulder length, wavy hair. The young scientist,
who had eyes the colour of the deep blue sea, desperately searched to find the
cure for death. He had a ghostly paleness and a serious determined expression
on his face as he returned to his laboratory. Exhausted, gripped, frenzied,
Victor worked every possible hour experimenting in order to find the cure for
death.
Chapter I Volume III
The laboratory was as dark as pitch black smoke. The shelves
groaned under the weight of jars, cups, and test tubes. Each container held the
severed body parts of Victor’s previous experiments suspended in liquid. The
small flickering flames of candles made a puddle of wax. The rough, black door
was securely shut with wood and chains. The unmistakeable aroma of rotten flesh
and damp soil filled the air. Victor’s workbench held book’s and surgical tools
and underneath lay flesh and peeled skin.
Chapter I Volume IV
In the centre of the laboratory an eight feet tall lifeless
body hung suspended by large strong metal chains. His large, muscular arms were covered with
ragged stitches. The skin of the monstrous creation was grey like a wolf hunting
for prey. Slowly, a blood red eye opened and he let out a piercing scream.
Shocked, bewildered, and confused, the creation stared at his master furiously.
A moment later, the monstrous grotesque creation snapped the chains holding
him. The hideous creation terrified Victor. The monstrous growl of his creation
caused Victor to quickly hide in the shadows. The massive muscular monster then
crashed and smashed his way out of the laboratory leaving a trail of
destruction behind him.
Little did Victor know that his actions that night would
lead to him losing everyone he loved. Victor would spend his life regretting
his decision and ask himself ‘who was the real monster?’
